James W. Jenkins: B. C. Moore operated a clothing store in Chesterfield for many years. I recall that Mrs. Rudolph Hursey was a long-time employee.
The business expanded over the years to include what was previously Square Deal Drugs on the right and later occupied, on the left, the space that previously housed Chesterfield Hardware until it moved across the street.
Elizabeth Ann Gaddy Rivers: The manager of Moore's in the late 40's was T. Vern Myers. He died in 1951 while manager. Dewey Stokes was a long-time manager of this store. Troylene Moore Merrill: The 1961 or 1962 Chevrolet in the top photo belonged to my family. |
