Elizabeth Ann Gaddy Rivers: My first memory of the store was when Sam Fowler owned it. I remember that he had a green Buick convertible and a very young wife who was one of the prettiest women I had ever seen. When I was in high school, I worked here on Saturdays at the fountain for Dr. C. E Braswell.
