Laura Mangum Jordan: My mother inherited this building from her mother.
Dr. William Perry: All these buildings as far down as the old barber shop were owned by Mrs. Park Mangum. They came much later in the development of the town. H. D. "Dock" Watson, one of three Watson Brothers (Mims, Nick, and Dock), operated a jewelry store in one of these buildings. Dock lived on the corner of Highway 145 and the By-Pass. J. B. Rivers built a drug store at that location when the Square Deal Drug Store closed. Elizabeth Ann Gaddy Rivers: Harrison and Christine Smith had a furniture store in this building and the building to the right, or east of this building. The current business at this location is Grapevine Flowers and Gifts operated by Lisa Gibson. |
