Dr. William L. Perry: There was a larger building here that sat way up off the ground, and there was a Maxwell automobile with a chain drive parked under the building. Mr. Will Redfearn operated a furniture store here and sold caskets; that is why Bill Redfearn was sent to embalming school.
Elizabeth Ann Gaddy Rivers: Joe and Myra Davis Lemmons opened Main Street Soda Shop at this location, but shortly after the opening, Joe died suddenly. Myra sold the business to Jerry Finch who ran the soda shop until he moved next door to 145 Main Street and opened Olde Towne Restaurant. I'm sure there have been other businesses here, but I don't recall them. Today this building houses NFC Payday Loans.
