James W. Jenkins:
Rudolph Hursey, Sr. owned Hursey Funeral Home. Margaret Griggs Hursey was a long-time employee of B. C. Moore & Sons.
Elizabeth Ann Gaddy Rivers: This will always be "Miss" Margaret's house to me and to most natives of Chesterfied. She and Rudolph had two children, both now deceased: Rudolph, Jr. (Sonny) and Margaret Love (Peggy). Sonny was a dentist in Spartanburg. Peggy was a public school music teacher early in her career, but for most of her life she was a real estate broker at Ocean Drive. After "Miss" Margaret's death, Peggy retained the property for family get-togethers until she sold it to Dale Eddins Gray. Dale's twin sister and her husband, Randall Griggs, moved into this house from the one next door at 507 West Main Street, followed by Michael and Christy Sellers Roscoe. The current owner is James Coley, director of the Chesterfield Family YMCA. |
