James W. Jenkins: This house was built by my uncle, George Jenkins. He lived here until his untimely death at 48 in 1960. He was serving as mayor of Chesterfield at the time of his death. He and Elsie Kelly Jenkins had two children, Bobby and Sandra. Like his father, Bobby died an untimely early death at 48 years of age in 1981. William and Sandra Jenkins Thurman live in the house today. They have three boys (Kelly, Allan, and Kevin). William and Sandra have been very active in locating background information for the Chesterfield Web Site.
